Case Summary

The Defendant companies (HMA, HMC, and others) are accused of manufacturing and selling certain defective cars (“Class Vehicles”) that may cause stalling, engine seizure, engine failure, and engine fire. The Plaintiffs also claim the danger that may be encountered by persons in the vehicle at the time of engine seizure or stalling. Finally, the Plaintiffs also claim that, despite being under the vehicle’s warranty, some Class Vehicle owners and lessees were still improperly denied repairs.
Which Hyundai vehicles are included?
The “Class Vehicles” are as follows: 2011–2019 model year Hyundai Sonata; 2013–2019 model year Hyundai Santa Fe Sport; and 2014–2015 and 2018–2019 model year Hyundai Tucson, equipped with 2.0 liter and 2.4 liter genuine Theta II gasoline direct injection engines within OEM specifications.
