Oregon LCD Flat Planet Screen Antitrust Settlement

Class Eligibility

The State of Oregon (and all state government entities), all Oregon political subdivisions, and all natural persons who, at any time from 2002 to 2006, indirectly purchased (for their own use and not for resale) one or more TVs, monitors and/or notebook computers that included a TFT-LCD flat panel.

NOTE: To be included in the LCD settlements, a natural person must have been a resident of Oregon at the time of the purchase, and the products must have been purchased in Oregon.

Case Summary

The district attorney of Oregon filed two antitrust lawsuits against the makers of liquid crystal display (LCD) flat panels and Cathode Ray Tubes (CRT). These lawsuits are accusing the manufacturers of conspiring to fix, raise, maintain or stabilize the prices of TFT-LCD flat panels or CRT this resulted in overcharges to consumers who indirectly purchased TVs, monitors, or notebook computers containing LCD flat panels or CRTs.

The defendants deny the allegations but agreed to settle the antitrust lawsuit to avoid the expense and uncertainty of ongoing litigation.
