Class Eligibility

You are a member of the class if you are the owner of one or several guns made by Taurus. The following models are included:

  • PT-111 Millennium
  • PT-132 Millennium
  • PT-138 Millennium
  • PT-140 Millennium
  • PT-145 Millennium
  • PT-745 Millennium
  • PT-609
  • PT-640
  • PT-24/7

May be as high as $200

Here is a breakdown of the benefits:

  • Safety Training: The training will address the operation and handling of the pistols affected by the class action settlement. Click here for more information.
  • Payment Option: If Class Members opt to return their pistols to Taurus, they will receive a payment of up to $200, if 10,000 pistols are returned. The amount Class Members will receive will drop, if more than 10,000 pistols are returned. The minimum Class Members will receive is $31. Taurus will also cover the shipping costs to return the handguns.
  • Enhanced Warranty: Class Members will be able to submit a warranty claim at any time, under the terms of the deal. If a warranty claim is submitted, Taurus will inspect, repair, and/or replace the pistol, if necessary, at no cost to the Class Members. Taurus will also cover all shipping costs.

Case Summary

According to the plaintiffs allege that certain Taurus gun models were made with defective safeties that are capable of firing when dropped, even if the safety is locked.

Taurus denies any wrongdoing, but it has agreed to the terms of this class action settlement to avoid the cost and risk of going to trial.
