“The Settlement Class includes all present or former employees of Verizon and/or Frontier who worked as consultants or clerks in a Call Center at 425 South Holden Street, Clarksburg, West Virginia 26301 and/or 1500 MacCorkle Avenue, South East, Charleston, West Virginia 25314, between July 20, 2009 and November 9, 2016, and who at any time during that period had a Disability and were subject to discriminatory treatment or a hostile workplace because of their Disability.”

Case Summary

In this settlement the plaintiffs accuse Verizon and Frontier Call Centers in Clarksburg and Charleston West Virginia of violating certain laws designed to protect those with disabilities. The plaintiffs allege that the defendants targeted disabled employees by creating a hostile environment in direct violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act. According to the settlement the call centers failed to make necessary accommodations and also disseminated and published personal and confidential medical details of certain employees with disabilities.

The defendants deny the allegations but have agreed to settle
